Live Music Experience Class

The stage. It is a place full of excitement, fear, anticipation, and storytelling. We believe in getting our students on stage as much as possible. We have bi-annual showcases on a big stage. These events bring together students from all instruments to create a song experience for their audience, complete with lighting, top-notch sound equipment, the whole nine. This brought about the idea of a live music experience…

What if we could give students an experience that allowed them more time with this stage, getting to know the ins and outs of it? What if there was an opportunity to learn about the live music experience from every angle? Every week.

This new class, as part of our group class offerings, is in partnership with Matt Buck, Sound Production Manager of Music Farm. Matt is a sound guru, and has put on more concerts than you’ve probably been to in your lifetime. The Music Farm has been voted the “Best Live Music Venue” in Columbia every year by the Free Times.

This 12-week course will walk through everything you need to know about the live music experience. Each week will have a different theme from live music performance, to techniques, and the technologies that make a concert happen.  The more you know, the more confident you will be in that setting.  The more skills you can acquire, the better you can tell the story.

There is no other opportunity like this one in the city, and there is also no cooler guy to lead it.

For any of our students who want to get a leg up on performance skills – this is the ticket.

The class will meet on Monday nights from 6:30-8:30 PM at Music Farm Columbia. Ages 11 & up.

Please email danny@stagsite1.com if you’d like to reserve a slot this semester.

*Group classes are a non-refundable semester fee that is split into four monthly payments ($75/month for two hours each week).
