Cassandra Gibson began playing viola at nine years old and has been teaching privately since 2016. Cassandra holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Viola Performance from the University of South Carolina. Cassandra believes that enjoying the instrument and music you play is essential to growth and teaches to include each individual’s passions and goals. As a teacher, Cassandra strives to foster a personal relationship with her students while developing healthy practice habits by emphasizing setting goals at regular intervals and encouraging students to speak and think proactively about themselves and their progress. Outside of Freeway, Cassandra is the Youth Orchestras Manager and Marketing Associate for the South Carolina Philharmonic. As a professional violist, she performs with the Long Bay Symphony, Rock Hill Symphony Orchestra and the Colour of Music Festival. In her spare time, she enjoys playing video games, painting and of course, playing her viola. Cassandra is available for both in-person and virtual lessons!
