Lindsey Chattin earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Piano Pedagogy from the University of South Carolina and has more than 12 years of teaching experience. Lindsey was named a 2018 and 2019 Steinway & Sons Top Music Teacher, and her students have received highest honors in their Royal Conservatory of Music exams.    Lindsey earned her Bachelor’s Degree of Music in Piano Performance at Appalachian State University, where she was given the Presser Scholar Award. She earned her Master’s and doctoral degrees in Piano Pedagogy at the University of South Carolina, where she studied piano with Dr. Marina Lomazov. While at USC, Lindsey taught collegiate group piano and students in the Center for Piano Studies and served as the Associate Director for the Southeastern Piano Festival.   Lindsey has participated in music festivals in Spain at the Burgos International Music Festival and in Italy at MusicFest Perugia, where she performed as a soloist with the Alicante Philharmonic Orchestra. After winning the Richard R. Deas Concerto Competition, Lindsey was a featured soloist with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, Lindsey has studied music, literature, and art in Vienna, Austria.   Having presented research findings at national, state, and local conferences across the US, Lindsey has shared research at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) National Conferences in Nevada, Illinois, and California, and has presented at the MTNA Piano Pedagogy Symposium in Utah and Texas. Her doctoral dissertation included research on performance anxiety and the Big Five personality types in collegiate piano students.   Currently, Lindsey is delighted to teach piano at Freeway Music in Irmo and at Northside Christian Academy. She also serves as the pianist at Mill City Church of Cayce. Lindsey enjoys helping students experience wonderment at the piano. She has taught all ages and levels and particularly loves teaching classical literature and church music.
