Desirée Richardson is a soprano from Augusta, Georgia. Her musical journey began with piano lessons in elementary school. She dabbled in playing the flute and violin for a few years before shifting her primary concentration to singing. Desirée cultivated her love of music at John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School, where she focused on choral music, piano, and musical theatre. She studied voice privately under Sandra Walker Brown (Metropolitan Opera) before studying with Dr. Tina Stallard (University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music) at the University of South Carolina, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music. Desirée is committed to making sure students at all levels are treated with kindness and patience. She cares for the student as a whole person and hopes to be a positive and motivating friend to all who enter her classroom. Her teaching focuses on basic fundamentals of music, healthy singing habits, self-love, and confidence, taking chances, learning from mistakes, and most importantly, having fun! When she’s not teaching or performing, Desirée loves playing video games and eating chips!
